The texts gathered here were written over the past five years. The majority are small essays on painting and painters, mostly published in newspapers, magazines and catalogs. The book brings together all of Pasta's writings on art, many of them written on request for editors or for exhibitions and seminars organized by the painter. These writings constitute the main portion of this little book. There are two other parts: In the first, "Dentro e fora da pintura," the author presents an informal history of his own work; in the second, "Por que desenho", he seeks to establish the relationship between his work in painting and drawing. To complete this collection of texts chiefly addressing Pasta's practical work, the book also presents four interviews that the painter has given over several years, allowing readers to identify changes and shifts in their own ways of interacting with the pictorial world.
