Northanger Abbey
Sinopse
Naïve novel reader Catherine Morland is invited to stay in Bath with some family friends. There, she is thrust into a world of balls, shows, flirtation, and gossip. She strikes up a friendship with the shallow Isabella Thorpe, but as Isabella makes a play for Catherine’s brother, James, Catherine finds herself increasingly in the company of Isabella’s arrogant brother, John. Catherine actually prefers the company of Eleanor Tilney and her brother, Henry, but the manipulative Thorpes constantly interfere in their relationship. As Catherine’s only life experience comes from reading gothic novels, she is poorly equipped to discern fact from fiction. Will Catherine finally see who her true friends are? Will she be able to keep them without imaging their involvement in gothic plot points?
